课程: Embracing Unexpected Change (with Audio Descriptions)
The reality of change
The instructor, Todd, speaks to us from a brightly lit lounge with Urban Decor, featuring gray brick and framed art. Behind him is a small café table with a chair and padded bench seat. Todd's head is clean shaven. He wears a black office shirt and glasses. No matter how well you try to plan your life, unexpected change will happen and change comes in many forms: job loss, economic difficulties, relationship changes, illness, and so on. The real question is how you feel about it and what you intend to do about it. A thin white line cuts across a turquoise gradient background, forming a jagged peak. Embracing unexpected change effectively is a skill you can learn. The white outline appears of a man in casual clothes with his hands on his hips. It requires you to begin thinking about change within a bigger context. The peak's outline fades. A winding dotted line leads from the man to the top of the peak. Then you can start to choose perspectives that make change much more manageable. On a slide titled "Build Resilience" points appear underneath. Choose to see things from a positive perspective. Embrace multiple identities. Count your blessings and take care of yourself. Of course, since change is inevitable, the final tactic is to become more resilient as a person, and we know a lot about making that happen. We return to the instructor. A Kiran appears, Todd Dewett, PhD. Author, speaker, coach. I'm Todd Dewett. Join me on LinkedIn learning so we can talk about improving how you deal with change. Starting now, it's no longer something that just happens to you. It's something you can more quickly understand and embrace.
