Optimizing line width

- Optimizing line width is one way to save time, but it's also an important part of understanding the feasibility of thin walls in your 3D prints. Line width, sometimes called thread width or extrusion width, is the dimension of a single extrusion of plastic, and it's the building block of our 3D print. In this video, we'll cover what line width is and how it's controlled. We'll also explore how line width impacts wall thickness, and various ways to optimize your design in CAD and in CAM. Typically line width is associated with nozzle size on the 3D printer's extruder. The most common nozzle sizes are 0.35 millimeters to 0.5 millimeters, which measures the nozzle opening, but they come smaller and larger as well. Nozzle size is approximately equal to the default line width. Example, a 0.4 millimeter nozzle easily produces a 0.4 millimeter line of plastic.
