- Data analytics is increasingly important in business, but there's a shortage of business people with the necessary analytical toolkit. This course is designed to teach the basics of data analysis, to help business professionals understand, identify and appropriately use data to answer their business questions. What's important to remember throughout this course is that you don't have to be a professional statistician to gain insights from data. In fact, the key to using data effectively is to appropriately question the source of information and the results. For this course, ensure that you have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and know a bit about simple statistics. We'll do a review of summary statistics, and then we'll dive into more complicated concepts. Throughout, we're going to work through the case examples of a hypothetical company called Wear One. I'll give you more details on our company later, but these realistic examples will help cement the key concepts throughout.
