- Documentation, whilst essential, is perhaps the most disliked aspect of financial modeling. I say this having queried many learners of mine over the years. Luckily, Copilot can take some of the pain away by scanning your model and extracting key inputs, calculations, and assumptions. With the exercise file open for this movie, let's start on the sales_data tab and call upon Copilot. Now, I'm just going to start with a simple prompt, such as, "Can you document my financial model?" Wow. In a matter of just moments, Copilot has prepared a summary of the key data elements and the formulas used. This structured layout can then be placed into something like a formal document that details the models, architecture, and assumptions. Now, if we scroll to the bottom of the chat response, you'll see the Copilot has offered to prepare a more detailed analysis of the model for us.
