- [Instructor] The three most powerful elements of communication are one, vocal, how we sound; two, visual, how we look and carry ourselves; three, verbal, the words we use to communicate. We often think that the best communicators are those who never say um or uh, and they're fully polished and perfect, but this just isn't the case. When you hear someone talk in a very polished way, trust me, you'll be thinking to yourself, gosh, that person sounds so scripted and robotic. I've been teaching communication skills for years now, and I still say I'm an I every now and then. It's okay. It's not about being perfect. Being a confident communicator is about being able to bring together the vocal elements, visual elements, and verbal elements of communication to create a strong connection with those that we are communicating with.
