- [Instructor] Cloud storage delivers on-demand, scalable, virtual storage, and eliminates the need for the cloud customer to purchase and manage their own physical data storage infrastructure. Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud offer various cloud storage options. However, we'll look at AWS simple storage service S3, Azure storage and Google Cloud storage. These three services are referred to as object storage. Think of object storage as similar to file storage. Object storage can be directly accessed via application program interfaces, also known as APIs, or through HTTPS and HTTP. Many of the breaches in the cloud occurred due to misconfiguration of cloud storage security settings. In 2017, an improperly secured Amazon S3 bucket belonging to the World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE, exposed the personal details of over 3 million fans.
