Sailing towards leadership mastery
- Along my intense and magnificent path, someone always believed in me, and I now believe in the fans of my reality TV show, "Below Deck Mediterranean," who write to me hundreds of messages weekly on social media. From these interactions, I've learned that with so much fear and uncertainty that surrounded the COVID-19 pandemic, economic hardship and social unrest, people have been feeling adrift. Whether a single mom needing words of encouragement as she struggles to make ends meet, an LGBTQ college graduate wondering if there's a place for him in the more traditional industry he dreams about joining, or a corporate executive concerned about becoming a more effective manager to her team, I take the time to answer everyone. I give them essentially the same advice I share with my crew, "Put your own oxygen mask on first."
