- After the attacks of September 11th, 2001, NATO formed a coalition of warships to monitor the Red Sea and other parts of the world. One night on a trip through the Gulf of Suez, I remember hearing an American woman's voice on the radio of one of those ships called Warships 68. She was asking boats to radio in with their names, coordinates and destination as part of a security monitoring process. I noticed that not one of the ship's captains on other boats were responding back to her. Yet when one of her male officers radioed the same question they answered immediately it annoyed me.
