- [Brett] For nearly as long as people have been developing for the web, there has been a divide between the front-end developer and the back-end developer. That's because the languages used on the front end are typically different than those on the back end, and because on the back end, there's a lot of server-based networking knowledge you have to have. Hi, my name is Brett McLaughlin, and in this course, I'm going to break down those barriers for you once and for all. I'm going to show you how to take the technologies you already know, in particular, JavaScript, and use them to write what has traditionally been thought of as back-end or server-side code. Not only that, I'm going to show you how dealing with servers and advanced networking is no longer a requirement. We're going to build a complete application, front to back, without servers, using only the tools that AWS provides you, HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript.
