- [Instructor] Once the operating system is installed on the server, we could continue to use it with a display and keyboard directly attached, which is great if your server is somewhere convenient, like at your desk. If it's not though; if it's in a data center or in a secluded spot in your home, it could be inconvenient or even unpleasant to use a console or a locally attached display and keyboard. So it's often better to access the server remotely over the network, using a terminal client instead. SSH or Secure Shell allows us to do this. And in the previous video, we made sure to have the open SSH server software installed and configured. From any system on the same network as the server, we can use an SSH client to connect to the server remotely and use the text-based shell to configure, administer, and troubleshoot it.
