Multiple histogram and density plots
- Did you know that distributions are rarely looked at individually? In fact, data analysts often need to examine multiple distributions and compare these to each other. Which region has the highest temperature? Which region has the highest temperature variation? Which regions are the most similar in temperatures? These types of questions can only be answered by comparing multiple distributions. An important aspect of comparing data distributions is to plot them on one graph. This makes it significantly easier to compare data. Today I'm going to show you how you can compare different distributions using the popular histogram and density plots. As a general rule of thumb, histograms are worse at multiple distribution comparisons than density plots. I'll explain.
