What you should know
- [Instructor] This is an intermediate-level course. In order to follow along, you need to have a bit of knowledge in different areas. The purpose of this course is developed using Node.js and JavaScript. It will be great if you have some experience with this programming language. If you don't have any, you can find the basic courses on Node.js in our library. However, if you're a senior backend developer with experience in other programming languages, I'm pretty sure that you can follow along with no problem. For this course, you don't need to have any knowledge of AWS. However, during the course, you will need an AWS account. If you don't have one and you don't know how to create it, check the LinkedIn Learning library for a course that will help you out. Many of the services that are going to be used in this course are covered in the AWS free tier. However, there are some like Kinesis Data Streams that have a fixed cost during the time that they are deployed, and other services, like Kinesis Data Firehose, EventBridge, event bus and pipes that have some very small costs associated by sending messages and using them. This is why it's so important that if you stop working on this course, or you're going to be extended period of times without being able to work on this, go to the last section of this course to the video cleanup, and there you can learn how to clean all the resources that are deployed in your console. I will be developing this project using Visual Studio Code on a Mac. However you can use any code editor that feels comfortable for you and follow this course along in a Windows or in a Linux machine, as all the tools are supported in all the platforms.
