- [Instructor] Let's create a virtual machine instance that will serve as the basis for a web server that we'll configure in a later video. So as you can see, I'm signed into the AWS Management Console. What I want to do is go to the all services section. I'll go to compute and then click on EC2. This is going to take me to the EC2 dashboard. I'll scroll down so that we can see the launch instance section and then I'm going to click the launch instance button followed by the launch instance option. This is going to take me into a wizard that will allow me to create a virtual machine instance. Now in one of the previous videos, we created a Linux-based web server. So for the purposes of this video, I'm going to go with Windows, just so that we have a bit of a variety.
