AWS networking concepts

- [Noah] Welcome to AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, SAP-C02, the second version of the Certified Solutions Architect Professional Exam. Let's talk a little bit about the background of the exam and my background. My name is Noah Gift and I have been developing multiple O'Reilly books over the last several decades. And my most recent O'Reilly books are "Python for DevOps", "Developing on AWS with C#", "Practical MLOps", and currently I'm working on "Implementing MLOps". I also have a popular podcast, "52 Weeks of Cloud" where I cover extensively cloud computing, machine learning, operations and DevOps. And I also have built multiple courses for Coursera on cloud computing. I currently work with a few different educational institutions including the Duke Data Science Program, Duke MIDS, and also the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis. I've also worked at other universities, including Northwestern's graduate data science program and Berkeley's School of Information. I'm also currently an AWS ML Hero, and I've been a subject matter expert on multiple exams for the AWS platform. Let's go ahead and dive into the details of the exam. The AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Exam is a multiple choice and multiple answer exam. There are a total of 65 questions on the exam and a minimum passing score of 75% is required to earn the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Certification. Domain one, domain two, domain three and domain four are roughly equally split amongst the questions. As I mentioned, there are four domains. Let's dive into each of those four domains. First, in domain one, design solutions for organizational complexity. You're going to need to know about AWS networking concepts, including hybrid DNS concepts and network segmentation. You also need to be skilled in troubleshooting traffic flows and utilizing service endpoints. Finally, you need to be able to develop a strategy for centralized security events. In domain two, you cover design for new solutions. And you should be able to design a deployment strategy to meet business requirements, including things like business continuity, determining security controls, designing a strategy to meet reliability requirements and optimizing costs. In domain three, determine a strategy to improve overall operational excellence, this may include alerting and automatic remediation strategies, disaster recovery planning, monitoring and logging solutions, and CICD pipelines and deployment strategies. Also you'll need to determine a strategy to improve security. This may include concepts like how long you should retain data. In domain four you need to be familiar with tools and services for workload migration and modernization. This includes things like assessment and tracking tools or portfolio assessment, asset planning prioritization and migration of workloads, and also data migration options and tools including application migration tools, AWS networking services, and DNS, and also identity services and databases. All right, let's go ahead and get started.
