- [Instructor] We're staying in our metal plate 001.DWG file. And in the previous video, I showed you how to place a hatch pattern, which is that nice magenta colored crosshatch on the section view that you can see on the screen. What we're going to do, we're going to change layers in the layers panel. So we're going to click on the little dropdown and we're going to select gradient fill. Now you'll notice the layer color is the same as the hatching layer, but you don't need to worry about a layer being used for gradient fill, because gradient fill has its own separate colors. I'll show you what I mean. We're going to go back to the draw panel and click on the flyout where hatch is and select gradient. Now you'll notice, we've got the hatch creation tab up there on the ribbon again, the contextual tab. And you'll notice, I could go up here and just change from gradient to pattern and I'm back in my hatch command…
