- With SoapUI installed and set up, you're now ready to create your first project. We have a few options here, we can either create an empty project, a SOAP project, or a REST project. Now in this course, we're going to be primarily looking at REST APIs, so we're going to pick that for our first project. We'll create a new REST project. And when we click on that, it brings up this dialogue asking us for the URI. So this is the base URL of the service that we're interested in. Now throughout this course, we're going to look at a number of different APIs. And for this example, we're going to use an API called the World Population API. So this is just an API that gives us some estimates about the world's population. So this is the base URL of it, api.population.io, so we'll copy that, we'll take it over here, and we'll paste it into this field and click OK. And now we can see over here in the hierarchy that SoapUI has created a number of objects for us. So let's just kind of walk through…
