- [Instructor] Before we take a plunge in learning the M language, it's very important to know two things. How does the M language look like, and where does it reside in the user interface of Power Query? Let's start. Let's take a look at where all can you find the M language inside of the Power Query window? I'm working in a blank Excel file, which is where I have already created one query. I'm going to go over to the Data tab and click on Queries & Connections, and that opens up my query box right here. I'm going to double click on the query that is there, which opens up the Power Query editor. Now the M language, which is the language behind Power Query's user interface, can be found at three critical places. The first one that you can obviously see is the Formula Bar up on the top.
