Staff Accountant

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and the preparation of financial statements. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. The Staff Accountant will report to the senior accounting staff and provide support in various accounting activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sales tax and other compliance filings.
• Support audits and prepare necessary documentation for external auditors.
• Assist in maintaining internal controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide support for special projects as required by senior accountants or management.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting function.
• Share financial data with the finance department
• Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
• Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
• Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Forecast tax predictions to senior managers

Job Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or balance of education and work experience over 3 years

· Requirements: Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping procedures and tax regulations is essential

· Familiarity with accounting software packages

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
