Sr Director, Software Engineering Kafka

The Sr Director of Software Engineering Kafka will lead large transformation programs and build a framework for sustainable engineering. This role will drive operational excellence including but not limited to Delivery Pipeline Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Performance Engineering. You will own the engineering vision within the software solutions business, drive alignment within and across teams to build and deliver quality products

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up engineering teams necessary to support technology stack and immediate high priority transformation projects
• Define architecture, transformation design without losing sight of the delivery and experience of end-users
• Set up teams and engineering process for stable releases to align with our customers
• Take personal ownership and accountability for the work delivered to ensure it is of the highest quality.
• Set standards around patterns, frameworks, and technologies to promote a simple and consistent approach
• Partner with the immediate leaders within the org to ensure that the engineering team supports and enables the business
• Being a team player and a thought partner to steer the collective technology team to success

REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years of industry experience implementing and leading cloud solutions and packages with a high level of proficiency in the cloud and associated integrations within a large enterprise
• 4+ years of experience in running enterprise services in a public cloud environment
• 4+ years in a leadership role in a large technology organization managing set up cloud solutions and best integrations ( custom web service components), ETL tool similar to IICS
• Ability to get to the details without losing the big picture view / hands-on mentality
• Experience running systems at scale leveraging cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, MySQL/Postgres
• Experience with leveraging Public Cloud Managed Services such as AWS RDS, S3, and DynamoDB in the design solutions
• Ability to manage, build and mentor development teams
• A team builder and leader that provides a clear structure and managerial oversight
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and drive to success
• Strong communication, partnership, and management skills to lead and collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams
• Ability to arbitrate technical discussions and make challenging calls

Key Responsibilities:

• In-depth experience in Kafka and Technology Stack.
• Backend cloud management, preferable in Azure environment
• Data engineering and scaling
• Deep developer experience
