Regulatory Analyst

Job Description

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Regulatory Analyst in Midland, TX. Reporting to the Regulatory Manager, the Regulatory Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition, maintenance, and compliance of all necessary permits for drilling and surface commingling oil and gas wells for Federal minerals in Southeast New Mexico. In addition, the Regulatory Analyst will be responsible for communicating regulatory requirements and performing data analytics in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with experience working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (NMOCD), and the New Mexico State Land Office (NMSLO).

General Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate preparation and submission of Federal and State oil and gas drilling and surface commingling permits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including: geologists, engineers, facilities, legal counsel, land, and well planning to gather necessary information and address any permitting challenges.
• Interface with regulatory agencies, attend meetings, present project details, and advocate for timely processing of permit applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of regulations impacting the company with the ability to summarize and provide internal guidance of such regulations.
• Monitor changes in regulations and requirements, adjusting permitting strategies accordingly to ensure ongoing compliance and company development initiatives.
• Provide regulatory updates to asset teams on the status of permitting activities, potential issues, and progress toward milestones.
• Support corporate regulatory permitting activities, policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Assist with professional development programs that provide company employees with information, policies, or training to assure an awareness of permitting and regulatory requirements and compliance.
  
  

Position Qualifications

• 5+ years oil and gas experience, preferably in a small or mid-size company.
• Experience working Federal and State regulatory agencies, including: NMOCD, BLM, NMSLO.
• Working knowledge of 43 CFR 3170, 3171, 3172, 3173, 3174, 3175, NEPA, FLPMA, ESA and standards incorporated by reference.
• High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail.
• Superior ability to prioritize activities and meet all deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research and comprehend rules and regulations.
• General understanding of upstream and midstream operations, facilities, and equipment.
