Regional Operations Director - Midwest

Location: Metro Detroit (Preferred), Cincinnati, or Chicago Markets

The Clark Agency is thrilled to collaborate with our client in the Distribution and Equipment Rental sectors. This opportunity centers on shaping and executing strategies to expand the Parts & Service business across the Midwest region. The role focuses on streamlining processes, ensuring operational consistency, and driving financial success, all while promoting teamwork and building strong customer relationships. Key responsibilities include overseeing branch operations, nurturing talent, meeting financial goals, leading impactful projects, analyzing market trends, and serving as a public representative for the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively across departments and business groups.
  • Review financial metrics to drive performance and accountability throughout the business.
  • Develop programs and initiatives to maintain and enhance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Build and grow talent within the division by coaching, setting objectives, and holding team members accountable.
  • Represent the organization publicly and within industry groups.
  • Cultivate customer relationships for parts and service, identifying needs, creating value, and generating sales.
  • Analyze market needs and assess the organization’s strengths and weaknesses.
  • Oversee CSS, rental equipment, and parts and service operations, including hiring and training key managers. Empower Operations Managers to manage branches and technicians independently and analytically.
  • Understand market and competitive landscapes to position the organization effectively.
  • Lead and manage the financials, including the Parts and Service P&L.
  • Ensure branches meet annual financial goals regarding revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
  • Provide branches with the resources needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor and adjust business plans to address performance variations.
  • Ensure budget performance for Parts and Services operations.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering or related field
  • 5-10 plus years business leadership experience, preferably in a related industry (forklift dealership, heavy equipment dealership, car dealership, etc.)
  • Proficiency in strategy execution, change management and driving operational excellence
  • Cross-functional and / or general management experience is a plus (vision of what it looks like to work in a ‘big company’)
  • Experience leading multiple facilities in different regions across multiple time zones
  • Proven P&L and budget experience.
