Quality Engineer

Gabriele & Company, a leading recruiting firm specializing in manufacturing and supply chain professionals, is working with a dynamic local manufacturer known for producing highly engineered, critical components utilized in Cloud, Industrial, eMobility, and medical device products. Recent growth requires the addition of a Quality Engineer, for their Billerica, MA location, to work in a complex manufacturing environment (e.g., assembly, fabrication, machining, welding) and work on the floor driving product quality and CAPA.

Snapshot of duties:

• Full responsibility for all aspects of product quality.
• Function as representative for all customer product quality issues.
• Drive CAPA process - take the actions necessary to improve product quality by identifying and addressing product non-conformances.
• Serve as a mentor to the organization for advanced problem solving techniques (8d, 5why, DMAIC).
• Define inspection processes, requirements, frequency and sampling internally and through sub tier.
• Drive improvements at key and critical suppliers to insure high quality incoming materials

Needed credentials:

• B.S. Engineering discipline
• 3+ of experience as a quality engineer in a mechanically oriented manufacturing facility
• Prior experience with assembly-based manufacturing that could include: machining and/or welding and/or brazing, and/or metal fabrication
• Knowledgeable in lean, six sigma and 6S
• PPAP and APQP required
• Ability to read drawings, have basic metrology skills, and the use of manual measuring tools
• Experience with proactively managing customer satisfaction
