Investment Analyst

EdgeCase Capital Partners (“EdgeCase”) is a San Francisco and Los Angeles area-based venture capital firm that invests in angel and early-stage startups.

Are you a venture capital deal flow analyst who is passionate about startups and new technologies and ready to take your career to the next level? Are you already familiar with the responsibilities required of a venture capital deal flow analyst and able to execute those responsibilities? Do you understand that your ability to call founders and create a relationship with them is critical to having great data and insight?

In this role, you will work as an independent contractor in a fast-paced environment with a talented team of venture capitalists and other investment professionals to help evaluate and identify EdgeCase’s investments.

EdgeCase has its own pipeline of hundreds of startups and is connected to several other highly productive pipelines. We need a venture capital deal flow analyst to help us read and review startups via their pitch decks, attend our meetings with startup executives, do research, and then write investment memos to help our investment committee make effective and quick decisions. In addition, we need industry reports, where you will research an industry, for example, AI social media companies, and write a useful report

Responsibilities

• Assist across all stages of deal execution from sourcing of new deals, preparation of investment memos, and other due diligence
• Use financial models and market research to assess the viability and growth potential of companies
• Analyze and score pitch decks from startups
• Compile data into actionable reports
• Work collaboratively with team members
• Build relationships with entrepreneurs and other industry professionals
• Write detailed investment memos with market and competitor analyses and succinct summaries on several early-stage companies a day

• Possess a non-stop “Can-Do” attitude with a true passion for working with startups
• Financial analysis and financial modeling skills

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of investment case studies, from early-stage startups to growth equity in smaller companies, and to be a part of driving the success of our portfolio companies.

We are a 100% remote company. You can be located anywhere as long as you can attend meetings during business hours (roughly 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) in Pacific Standard Time.

Payment:
