Overview

SPEC Services is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our expanding team. With over 40 years of industry leadership, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic work environment where you can excel.

As the HRBP, you will collaborate closely with management to align HR strategies with business objectives. This role serves as a strategic partner, offering guidance and support across various HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and benefits. We are searching for a detail-oriented individual passionate about cultivating a positive workplace culture.

This position provides opportunities for professional growth and the potential for future advancement into management roles, based on performance and company requirements. The role also offers a flexible 9/80 schedule with a hybrid in-office and Work from Home (WFH) setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • StrategicHR Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing insights and recommendations on HR-related matters such as talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent to meet the company’s needs. Develop and implement talent management strategies to retain and develop employees.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Performance Management: Drive the performance management process, including setting performance expectations, conducting evaluations, and providing feedback. Develop and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Trainingand Development: Identify training needs and create development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Oversee the development of “SPEC University” to facilitate comprehensive learning opportunities. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to support employee growth.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with industry standards. Conduct salary reviews and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Change Management and Organizational Development: Develop, facilitate, and execute change management plans and organizational development initiatives to improve efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports for senior management and make data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR business partner or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws.
  • Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in the engineering or consulting industry is a plus.

  • Primary work location is at the Fountain Valley Office. SPEC currently has Office Work Days every Tuesday and Thursday, with remote work location on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Salary Range: $100-$140k Annually
