Head of Information Technology (Biotechnology)

Position Overview

Our client, a pioneering clinical-stage biotechnology company, is searching for an innovative and strategic leader to oversee their Information Technology department. This position offers an incredible opportunity to define and execute IT strategies that drive collaboration and support groundbreaking therapies aimed at addressing heart disease.

As the Head of IT, you will manage IT operations, develop forward-thinking strategies, and lead a lean IT team. This hybrid role requires a visionary leader who is passionate about creating efficient systems and processes while ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize existing IT operations and infrastructure.
• Design and implement IT strategies that align with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business needs, system requirements, and integration plans.
• Build and mentor a high-performing IT team.
• Oversee security and compliance initiatives, including SOX controls, GDPR, and CFR Part 11 requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure efficient delivery of IT services.
• Drive data system integration to ensure seamless access and collaboration.
• Develop and manage IT budgets and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic priorities to drive growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in a biotechnology or GxP manufacturing environment.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in cloud and networking systems (Office 365, Azure, AWS, etc.) and business applications such as ERP.
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management, data security, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with systems supporting GxP operations and ITGC standards.
• Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Facility operations management experience is a plus.
