The engineers at Code Red Consultants provide professional consultation services for a range of clients, including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors, on projects with construction costs ranging in size between $1 million and $1.5 billion. Code Red Consultants is led by principals Carl Nelson, PE, Christopher Lynch, PE, Nathan Birmingham, PE, and Peter Harrod, PE. Our team includes licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineers with Master of Science degrees in Fire Protection Engineering. The IDEXX Horizon Center, a 114,000-square-foot manufacturing facility?in Scarborough, Maine, features research and development labs and an expansive warehouse component with?cold and freezer storage and 40-foot-high ceilings. Supporting office spaces and a full-size cafeteria enhance the facility’s amenities. ? This exciting project bolsters future growth for IDEXX, a biotechnology research company developing and manufacturing diagnostic tests. Its mission is to ensure the safety of milk and water around the world and maintain the health and well-being of livestock, poultry, and horses. We are thrilled to have been part of the project team for this new facility in Springfield, Virginia. Our close collaboration with the AHJ to secure variance approvals was crucial in driving the project's overall success. Congrats to WDG and the rest of the project partners!
Representatives from WDG were on hand in Springfield, VA, last week to witness the ribbon cutting at the Springfield Community Business Center (CBC) Commuter Parking Garage! The new six-level, state-of-the-art parking facility will open to the public on Sept. 14th, offering 1,100 parking spots with free daily commuter parking, a transit center with 7 bus bays serving Fairfax Connector and Metrobus routes, a pedestrian/cyclist bridge over Old Keene Mill Road, a 66-spot secure bike room with 40 additional bike racks, spaces for ridesharing, designated commuter slugging area, rooftop solar arrays, and a top deck featuring a green roof plaza for community events, arts, and fitness classes. This facility will improve local commutes and enhance connections throughout Fairfax County!
