Finance Manager

Talimer’s client, a fast-growing, logistics-technology startup, seeks a dynamic Finance Manager to add immense value to their billing and finance team. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in driving the financial success of 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations. This position will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis, auditing costs, and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the logistics or supply chain industry, along with expertise in managing complex cost structures and pricing models.

Duration: Full-time, direct hire

Location: Hybrid in Cudahy, WI

Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000 per year commensurate with experience and skills

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage complex billing models, client invoice aggregation, and carrier pricing analysis and audits (with eventual support from new hires)
• Hire and manage two team members within first 6-12 months
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support the company’s growth strategy in the 3PL sector.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, analyzing key performance metrics for the logistics operations
• Monitor and analyze revenue streams, operating costs, vendors, and profitability to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
• Oversee cash flow management ensuring adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations
• Partner with operations, sales, and other departments to develop financial KPIs and provide insights for strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies
• Provide financial analysis for logistics projects, investments, and long-term planning initiatives
• Collaborate with senior management to support business growth and market expansion strategies

Required Skills and Expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, ideally within a third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, or supply chain environment
• Strong understanding of logistics cost structures, pricing models, and contract management
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), and tax compliance
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading finance teams
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
