Emergency Physician - Nocturnist, Full-time and Per Diem

A designated Level III Trauma Center, STEMI, Cardiac Care Center of Excellence and Primary Certified Stroke Center, Lawrence General has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Massachusetts. Lawrence General offers a broad range of services and specialty surgeries in its Santagati Center for surgery and leads the region in cardiac care with one of Massachusetts most highly accredited cardiovascular centers.

employees, Lawrence General has proudly served the region since 1875 and is a major acute care provider of emergency, surgical, medical, maternity, and newborn care for the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire.

The Lawrence General Hospital Emergency Center is a 41 bed Emergency Room that serves 67,000 visits annually. Features of the Emergency Center include 3 expanded trauma/resuscitation rooms, a dedicated area for CT and X-ray, ED Observation Unit, dedicated Behavioral Health team, and a newly expanded Vertical Area for patient care.

About Holy Family Hospital

A 310-bed full service, acute care hospital with two campuses located in Methuen and Haverhill, Massachusetts, Holy Family Hospital provides expert care in the areas of orthopedics, wound care, women’s health, cardiovascular care, stroke care and behavioral health care to patients in the Merrimack Valley. Holy Family Hospital features comprehensive inpatient medical/surgical units and 24/7 emergency services at both locations, outpatient services, a Level II Special Care Nursery, Intensive Care Unit (Methuen campus), and Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry. The HFH Methuen ED sees over 35,000 visits annually and the HFH Haverhill ED sees over 18,000 patients annually. Both EDs are staffed with emergency physicians and advanced practice providers.

Emergency Medicine Team

The Emergency Medicine team includes over 40 Emergency Physicians and APPs all of whom are under the direction of the Chief of Emergency Medicine. Emergency Physicians in the LGH and HFH Emergency Center bring administrative and quality support in the fields of EMS, Ultrasound, International Emergency Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, and Quality and Patient Safety. Family Medicine Residents from the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center also rotate through the LGH Emergency Center.

Primary Qualifications and Responsibilities

• Regular Schedule: 32 or 28 hours per week, working 2 weekends per month.
• Nocturnist Role working the overnight shifts.
• Option A. 28 Hours Per Week working 1 Weekend.
• Option B. 24 Hours Per Week working 2 Weekends.
• Minimum of MD, DO, or foreign medical equivalent.
• Successful completion of an Emergency Medicine residency program
• Eligible for full unrestricted licensure to practice in Massachusetts.
• BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Physician time will be allocated between the HFH EDs and LGH ED depending on clinical needs.
