Job Title: Game Day Staff

Department: Various (Game Entertainment, Stadium Operations, Sports Turf, Retail, Seating Bowl Hosting, Picnic Area Hosting, Ticket Operations)

Reports To: Game Day Supervisor

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Bulls, in conjunction with Headway Workforce Solutions, will host two Job Fairs on Saturday, January 25 and Saturday, February 1 to fill part-time game day positions for the 2025 season. The fairs, which will be in the PNC Triangle Club at Durham Bulls Athletic Park both dates from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., are open to the public.

Interviews will be held for seasonal, part-time positions available in game entertainment, stadium operations, sports turf, retail, seating bowl hosting, picnic area hosting, and ticket operations on Saturday, January 25. Bull City Hospitality, the Bulls’ Food and Beverage company, will also be conducting interviews on Saturday, February 1, aiming to fill a number of concession stand positions including managers, stand attendants, catering staff, cooks, bartenders and more.

Position Overview:

The Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and a cherished part of Minor League Baseball, are seeking energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Game Day Staff team. With roles spanning Game Entertainment, Stadium Operations, Sports Turf, Retail, Seating Bowl Hosting, Picnic Area Hosting, and Ticket Operations, you’ll have the opportunity to help create memorable experiences for fans while contributing to the excitement of Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Key Responsibilities By Role:

• Game Entertainment:
• Assist with on-field promotions and fan engagement activities.
• Support mascot appearances, t-shirt tosses, or other interactive elements.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth execution of entertainment elements.
• Stadium Operations:
• Ensure cleanliness and functionality of concourses, restrooms, and common areas.
• Support setup and teardown of events or promotions.
• Monitor stadium safety and enforce venue policies.
• Sports Turf:
• Assist with field maintenance, including prepping and repairing the playing surface.
• Set up equipment such as bases and pitching mounds.
• Maintain the aesthetics and safety of the field throughout the game.
• Retail:
• Provide excellent customer service while selling merchandise at the team store or kiosks.
• Operate point-of-sale systems and handle transactions accurately.
• Restock inventory and maintain a clean and organized retail space.
• Seating Bowl Hosting:
• Greet fans as they arrive at their designated seating areas.
• Assist with locating seats and ensuring fans have a great experience.
• Address guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism.
• Picnic Area Hosting:
• Welcome groups and ensure the picnic area is clean and well-prepared.
• Provide assistance with food service and event coordination.
• Be the point of contact for group needs during the event.
• Ticket Operations:
• Scan tickets and assist fans with entry into the stadium.
• Resolve ticketing issues, including will-call and mobile ticket inquiries.
• Provide exceptional customer service while helping fans access their seats.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Enthusiasm for baseball and providing top-tier customer service.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods.
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in customer service, event operations, or related fields.
• Knowledge of baseball or the sports entertainment industry.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
  
  

Work Environment:

This role takes place in an engaging and fast-paced setting at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Staff should be prepared for outdoor working conditions, including various weather scenarios, and the excitement of game-day crowds.
