Nyxion is an AI-powered impact measurement and forecasting platform, automating program evaluation, resource allocation, and data-driven impact insights. We are building a scalable AI-driven system and are looking for a Boston-based Development Team Lead to drive our technical execution.

Role Overview: Development Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Development Team Lead who will manage the backend and frontend development while ensuring AI and data science integration into Nyxion’s platform. The ideal candidate will lead junior developers from top U.S. universities (Harvard, UCLA, Brown), work closely with the CTO and AI/ML strategist, and architect a scalable backend.

Responsibilities

> Lead the development team (backend, frontend, data science) in building and scaling Nyxion’s AI-powered platform.

> Architect and oversee backend infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability.

> Guide and mentor junior developers (Harvard, UCLA, Brown CS students) in best coding practices.

> Collaborate with the AI/ML strategist to integrate AI-driven automation into the platform.

> Ensure smooth API integrations, database design, and cloud infrastructure management.

> Own code reviews, best practices, and technical decision-making to maintain a high-quality codebase.

> Coordinate with the UI/UX team (Japan) and ensure seamless frontend-backend interactions.

> Work closely with the CTO to align development priorities, roadmap execution, and technical decision-making, ensuring Nyxion’s architecture is scalable, secure, and AI-driven.

Required Qualifications

> 5+ years of hands-on development experience, with expertise in backend & full-stack development.

> Strong leadership & team management skills, preferably having led small development teams before.

> Expertise in modern backend technologies (Python, Node.js, Django, FastAPI, PostgreSQL).

> Proven experience in API design & system architecture (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices).

> Familiarity with AI/ML integration (working with AI models, data pipelines, cloud-based AI deployments).

> Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) & DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).

> Strong problem-solving mindset with experience in scaling applications.

> Based in the Greater Boston area (Hybrid or remote with Boston-based preference).

Preferred Qualifications

> Experience working in AI-powered platforms, data science tools.

> Background in AI, data science, or analytics-driven development.

> Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React.js, Vue.js) and how they integrate with backend APIs.

> Experience mentoring junior developers and working with cross-functional teams.
