Copywriter

As a Copywriter for Makeup by Mario you will capture the voice of the Makeup By Mario brand across all communication touchpoints. You will craft authentic messaging and storytelling for our products and techniques that resonate with our followers and consumers. You will be able to take brand and product stories and bring them to life in ways that are native to the platform while keeping a consistent brand voice.

This position will work across projects and teams. This role will work closely with all 360 Campaign departments - Marketing/PR, Product Development, Creative, Creative Ops, Digital/Social, Education - to ensure all brand deliverables are met in a timely manner and never losing focus of our brand pillars and our founder’s voice.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute clean, detail-oriented, on-brief copy that captures the Makeup By Mario brand voice.
• Implement brand voice seamlessly across all touchpoints.
• Partner with design team to ensure copy is correctly flowed into design and work on solutions to optimize.
• Interpret creative direction from various teams and adapt points into practical copy concepts.
• Meet and take ownership of deadlines for key projects.
• Attend product kick-offs and examine various types of project briefs, paying close attention to marketing objectives and copy requests.
• Stay very abreast of the beauty industry and social media trends as well as the competitive space.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years of experience working in copywriting.
• Relevant experience working on digital platforms.
• Creative self-starter; ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on copy for a brand with an active founder a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
• Understanding of SEO/SEM best practices.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and strong time management skills.
• Beauty experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented and data driven.
• Strong relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

This position entails spending four days at our headquarters in midtown New York City and one day working remotely

• Competitive salary range $80,000 - 95,000k p/yr.
