Salary range: $90,000-$100,000 plus annual bonus potential; commensurate with experience 

What we need 

Gulf Energy Information, a leading provider of energy industry information, research, and technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial management of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead a team responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making. 

What you will do 

• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, revenue management and accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger activities and financial reporting.
•  Oversees Receivables and Payable Manager and provides guidance and support as needed. 
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual closing financial statements. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the management team. 
• Oversee audits of the company's financial statements and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. 
• Responsible for managing the banking and weekly treasury activities, including making vendor payments, managing purchasing card accounts and reconciling bank accounts.
• Assist in the compilation of financial files for submission to a third-party CPA firm for preparation and filing of tax returns. 

What you will bring 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred 
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. 
• Experience working with US GAAP and accrual-based financial statements.
• Experience with multi-entity and foreign currency translation preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Thorough attention to detail and accuracy 
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Netsuite) and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel).
