Controller
The mission of this role is to streamline the company's budgeting, labor, accounting and financial reporting, including producing strategic financial-status reports for senior management to aid in improving the company's operational efficiency and continued growth. This individual will be instrumental in driving efficient work flow processes, overseeing the finance and accounting functions and working closely with the VP, Finance to create greater value and profitability. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, transparent, flexible, and able to mentor and coach the team.

- Takes ownership of all daily finance functions for the company globally - Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and IFRS standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Lead and supervise the Accounting Department to maximize their productive output
- Support implementation of key systems such as enterprise wide reporting platforms.
- In conjunction with the VP, Finance, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
- Oversee and support accounting team with constructive leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
- Ensure all tax filings and other related tax matters are completed on time
- Responsible for the growth and development of the finance team including succession planning and performance management
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field; CPA designation, highly preferred
- 8+ years' experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP and IFRS)
- Strong understanding of economic and banking processes and working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
- Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes
- Experience with ERP implementations and project management
- Exemplary history of financial project management
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
- The ability to present complex financial information in a simple, clear, and confident way
