As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future, ensuring scalability, operational efficiency, and strategic financial planning.

Role Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leadership role responsible for Locke Solutions’ entire financial and HR functions. Reporting directly to the President, the CFO plays a critical role in driving financial strategy, ensuring fiscal discipline, and leading financial planning, reporting, compliance, and human capital development. This role oversees the Controller, Head of Talent, and Financial Analyst, ensuring alignment between financial, operational, and HR goals to support the company’s continued growth.

Additionally, the CFO will lead the company’s Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) strategy, identifying and evaluating opportunities for expansion, conducting financial due diligence, structuring deals, and ensuring successful integration of acquired companies.

The ideal candidate is a high-impact, results-driven financial and HR leader with a deep understanding of financial operations, strategic workforce planning, and M&A execution in a high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute Locke Solutions' financial strategy to support rapid growth and scalability.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the President and executive team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure financial policies, procedures, and controls are effective and scalable to support the company’s continued expansion.
  • Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy & Execution
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute potential M&A opportunities to support business growth and market expansion.
  • Conduct financial modeling, due diligence, and risk assessments on potential acquisitions.
  • Develop deal structures, negotiate financial terms, and manage the transaction process from initial evaluation through post-merger integration.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, and leadership teams to ensure smooth transition and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Align M&A activity with Locke Solutions' long-term financial and strategic goals.
  • Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain key financial dashboards and reports to provide visibility into financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial trends, identify risks and opportunities, and implement strategies to improve profitability and cash flow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, aligning with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Cash Flow, Treasury & Capital Management
  • Manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains financial stability while funding growth initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast to provide leadership with proactive insights into financial health.
  • Optimize working capital, vendor payments, and credit strategies to support liquidity needs.
  • Oversee banking relationships and financing strategies to support the company’s growth trajectory
  • Accounting, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and audit standards.
  • Oversee financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Work closely with the Controller to continuously improve accounting processes and systems.
  • Human Resources
  • Provide strategic leadership for HR, ensuring alignment with Locke’s growth and cultural values.
  • Oversee HR policies, talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management to support a high-performance workforce.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Talent to develop and implement leadership training, succession planning, and employee development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations while fostering an engaging and inclusive work environment.
  • Partner with leadership to drive initiatives that enhance employee experience, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop the Finance and HR team, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Ensure HR functions scale effectively as the company grows, implementing process improvements and technology enhancements.

Key Results

  • Revenue Growth: Support Locke’s goal of reaching $500M in revenue by 2035 through financial strategy and M&A execution.
  • Team Development: Build and lead high-performing finance and HR teams to support company growth, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Profitability: Improve Net Income margins by 100% through cost management, pricing strategies, and operational efficiencies.
  • M&A Execution: Prepare Locke to take advantage of acquisition opportunities that present themselves from a financial and systematic approach.
  • Cash Flow & Liquidity: Improve balance sheet strength and cash flow through more efficient working capital strategies.
  • Budgeting & Financial Planning: Develop and implement annual budgets and long-term financial plans that align with Locke’s growth strategy.
  • Financial Reporting Accuracy: Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closes within 5 business days of month-end.
  • Operational Improvements: Drive cost savings and efficiency gains in operations and working capital by providing data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • HR Strategy & Talent Development: Enhance employee experience, leadership development, and succession planning to attract and retain top talent.
  • Culture & Compliance: Foster an engaging, inclusive work environment while ensuring compliance with labor laws and HR best practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Proven experience in mergers & acquisitions, including financial due diligence, deal structuring, and integration.
  • Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow optimization in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Titan experience a plus) and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and implement best-in-class financial practices.
