The year 2020 swooped in with the surprise of COVID 19 bringing the export industry like many others to a stand still. The abrupt stoppage of demand disrupted the standard supply chain.
The main challenge arising as how to do the marketing for these export and manufacturing businesses post COVID. There was a gradual opening of facilities and industry. People with limited economic resources and with months of lockdown saw a reduction in demand for products and services. Many employees became jobless, and effectively demand became much less. This particular question has been haunting as how to advertise now to attract more business for these export houses.
The biggest challenge of COVID-19 is that we do not know when the market situation will get back to normal again. Many physical stores remain closed, and consumers are moving more towards online shopping. Since and after COVID 19 physical movement have slowed down a lot, exporters cannot travel to showcase their produce and similarly brands cannot come to check the produce physically thus hampering the old process. With slower movement naturally demand also decreased and exporters started struggling as to how to put this production out in the market.
The whole year 2020 was spent in houses for the people where they got themselves busy with more social media interaction learning about stories of others.This backstory narrative became very effective for some businesses who weren’t faring well before but due to the transparency shown they attracted more and more clients.Also people are responding positively when brands and manufacturers demonstrate social responsibility, give back to communities in need, and prioritise environmental sustainability.
There are a lot of issues for the exporters and manufacturers for now but the core is to embrace this change and move into the future market. As only if we modify with the changing markets both locally and internationally we can expect a growth.
