Summary

The Administrator, Vehicle Logistics will be expected to gather, construct and monitor data under DP, QC & Rail Ops for GLOVIS and its customers. Position will provide support in maintaining and surpassing acceptable quality levels in vehicle processing and transportation. Conduct investigative studies for the overall port, rail, dealership, trucking transportation quality processes, assist in scheduling, planning and executing ad-hoc internal/external audits and inspections for all rail, truck, ocean loading/unloading shipping. Expected to assist in comprehensive analysis of documents, processes and improvements alike.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow supervisor, develop ability to operate independently carrying out orders in different locations/ramps/ports/yards nationwide at anytime
    • Travel to multiple locations when needed
    • Implement and maintain GLOVIS expected standards of 99.8% damage-free
    • Study daily transportation damages and support in assigning A3 reports accordingly. Assist in contacting, gathering and responding to transportation related damages for assigned vendors
    • Communicate with supervisor and team members alike the damage trends for a particular customer, dealer, service center, lane, ramp, port, load line, origin and destination ramp and transportation vendor
    • Identify and perform test loads and quality control monitoring for customer vehicles
    • Monitor and report findings to include trends, inconsistencies, abnormalities and foresight from VPC, customer Daily Reports and customer representatives
    • Identify and monitor issues resolution process and manage escalated items that need higher level attention through chain of command
    • Assist the Rail Operations Team with supervision and training of new employees
    • Review rail hold audits to ensure accuracy
    • Maintain safe and healthy work environment and enforce organizational standards and adhering to legal regulations
  • Construct, develop and conduct load line, yard, and lot audits using standardized audit procedures identical to customer PQE/AAR audits and understand audits for ocean/inland ports
    • Assist in planning and conducting Port/VPC yard, Vendor fleet and Rail Origin/Destination Terminal Quality Audits
    • Contact and collaborate with In-Transit Repairs for any damage issues, trends and/or projects
    • Contact, collaborate with ramp team for any damage reports, issues, trends and/or projects
    • Comprehend and reference transportation and handling manuals, technical bulletins, load factors, weights as well as Standards Of Work for all customers
    • Ensure that business goals, deadline and performance standards are met
  • Miscellaneous and ad-hoc projects
    • Monitor all operational reports and logs (PBI, DR, BOL, A3) ad-hoc reports and miscellaneous
Compensation Range

$61,000- $74,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be able to comprehensibly use Excel, MS Word, PPT and related programs, to include operating systems Required
  • Possess and develop the ability to input and analyze data in compliance with GLOVIS standards Required
  • Openness to learning about rail, haulaway, and ocean transportation modes Required
  • Sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with different departments, vendors and carriers along with current and future team members Required
  • Eager to learn and become an asset at their position Preferred
  • Inquisitive mind and asks questions Preferred

Education & Experience

  • Associates Degree Required
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in Customer service, quality control/assurance, data analyst/associate Required
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience in Customer service, quality control/assurance, data analyst/associate, administrator, team lead, receptionist, insurance claims agent Preferred
  • Training in customer service/assurance Required
  • Training in OSHA, Sigma, safety, military experience Preferred
  • OSHA Six Sigma Certificate Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
