Accounting Manager
MUST HAVE MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in accounting, managing a small team (3-5 people) within a private company setting. This role is ideal for someone with experience in cost accounting, especially within the manufacturing industry, with a focus on distribution and inventory management. The position offers excellent opportunities for career growth for an ambitious individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a small accounting team (3-5 people), ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial tasks.
- Cost Accounting:Oversee and manage cost accounting functions, including product costing, labor, material, and overhead costs to ensure accurate reporting in line with company objectives.
- Inventory & Distribution Accounting:Manage accounting activities related to inventory, including tracking costs associated with inventory acquisition, movement, and storage. Implement effective inventory control processes and ensure the accurate valuation of inventory.
- Financial Reporting:Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, focusing on cost accounting and inventory management, while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Budget & Forecasting:Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, particularly in relation to distribution and inventory management within the manufacturing process.
- Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis to compare actual costs with budgeted costs and report findings to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement:Identify areas for improvement in accounting practices, especially concerning cost tracking, inventory management, and distribution processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Audit Support: Lead and assist in both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- General Ledger Oversight: Maintain and ensure the integrity of the general ledger, especially focusing on manufacturing costs, inventory balances, and distribution expenses.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and internal controls, particularly related to manufacturing and inventory cost management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, supply chain, and distribution teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and support financial decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting management, preferably within the manufacturing industry with a focus on cost accounting, distribution, and inventory management.
- Proven experience managing and developing a small team (3-5 people).
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory and distribution accounting, including variance analysis and cost tracking.
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, especially with production and distribution teams.
- Ambition to grow and take on additional responsibilities as the company scales.
