Role and Responsibilities:
Priority Financial Group (PFG) is looking for a focused and driven professional to join our growing team as an Accounting Assistant. As a growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm, the ideal candidate will possess experience in the wealth management and investment advisory industry. Reporting to the Finance & Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will serve as a valuable member of the accounting department, assisting with both clerical and administrative tasks. The Accounting Assistant will take care of basic office tasks that involve reporting, bookkeeping, research and resolution of discrepancies related to any tasks that he or she performs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting:
- Collect and sort invoices and checks
- Data entry of documents the accounting department is responsible for, including checks and invoices, as well as bank and commission statements, and other reports and records
- Process expense reports
- General ledger reconciliations (credit cards and bank statements)
- Tracking of invoices, collection status, and communication with clients to ensure timely accounts receivable posting
- Assist Supervisor with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part including ad hoc reporting needs
- Support with payroll processing, as directed by Supervisor
Commission & Fee Processing:
- Calculate weekly commissions for advisors
- Send statements to advisors detailing commissions
- Research and resolve commission/payroll discrepancies
- Enter ACH data for 1099 payments
- Serve as backup for Compensation Manager; processing of advisor management fees, commissions and expenses
Qualifications/Education Requirements and Preferred Skills:
- Degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years well-rounded experience in accounting, payroll and/or related field. Experience in Financial Services industry preferred.
- Billing, accounts receivable and bookkeeping
- Ability to problem-solve and perform process analysis with refined attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks – create and update spreadsheets using charts and Excel functions
- Teamwork and collaboration across functional teams
- Time management and organization skills
- Financial services experience preferred
- Ability to pass detailed background and credit check
