Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators, and grocery retailers. Regional Sustainability Lead – Asia Pacific


Purpose of the Role


This position is to be based in Thailand (Bangkok) or Singapore.


Operationally reporting to the President - Asia Pacific and functionally reporting to the Global VP Sustainability, this role will:


  • Lead the regional sustainability strategy development, implementation, analysis, and reporting of sustainability impact metrics for Griffith Foods in alignment with our Global Sustainability Strategy, across four areas: well-being & fulfillment, climate action & environmental management, sustainable sourcing, and health and nutrition.


  • Lead and support delivery of our long-range plan in the region to fully integrate our sustainability focus in our Aspirations 2030 into strategy, implementation, and delivery of our impact metrics.


  • Scale impact through strategically aligned regional partnerships to support the delivery of our *2030 Aspirations, and collaborate with the Global Director of Partnerships on developing the regional Partnership Plan and monitor progress and performance.

Responsibilities


Regional Sustainability Strategy and Implementation

  • Lead sustainability strategy implementation for the Region, across functions and in alignment with the Global Griffith Foods Sustainability Strategy
  • Lead the regional integration of Foundational Goals within the 2030 Aspirations with impact metrics across sustainable food system networks, nutritious and sustainable portfolio, and serving the underserved
  • Guide, advise, and ensure regional long-range plan roadmaps for the 2030 Aspirations enable delivery of the regional impact metrics
  • Regional sustainability subject matter expert, engaging, advising, and supporting leadership and operational teams to ensure sustainability is embedded and considered throughout all aspects of business operations


Partnerships & Ecosystems

  • Work with the Global Partnerships team to build and establish Partnerships & Ecosystems capability across the Region, co-creating frameworks for Partner evaluation, due diligence, toolkits, governance, and dashboards.
  • Lead development of management plan of all Partners identified within Region / Local across Regional Leadership and Functional Experts
  • Regional focus is primarily on Executional Excellence in the practices and capabilities of Partnerships / Ecosystems (working closely on consulting and co-creating with Global on strategy, frameworks, toolkits, etc.)


Reporting and Process Development

  • Track, analyze, and report adoption of 53 impact reporting indicators covering our Sustainability Foundational Goals and 2030 Aspirations, assess tactical plans, blockers, and successes to support the progression of sustainability adoption in the region
  • Lead process development and provide customer support for sustainability requests in collaboration with Regional Customer Care and Business Development (sales) and marketing teams
  • Provide sustainability data and strategic input to Global Director Impact Reporting on the integration of sustainability Foundational Goals into the 2030 Aspiration Impact Metric reporting framework
  • Co-ordinate and submit annual Ecovadis Business Unit submissions within the region to maintain Ecovadis certification


Sustainability Learning & Stakeholder Management

  • Responsible for facilitating, providing content, and championing sustainability learning & development within the region in alignment with the global sustainability learning plan
  • Collaborate and coordinate across regional functions and country operations to share best practices and learnings that ensure the efficient delivery of resources and phasing of sustainability investments and implementation plans
  • Identify and engage with relevant external regional sustainability associations, not for profits, and other organizations to support delivery of 2030 Aspirations in collaboration with the Global Ecosystem Partnership Director and global sustainability team.
  • Represent Griffith Foods at external sustainability conferences and stakeholder meetings


Matrix Effectiveness

  • Member of the Regional Leadership team and Global Sustainability Leadership team
  • Represent region on the Global Sustainability Steering Committee, a global and cross-functional committee providing strategic guidance and governance for the implementation of sustainability within Griffith Foods, chaired by Global VP Sustainability
  • Work closely with Global Partnerships Director to build the Partnerships & Ecosystems capability
  • Work closely with regional functions and global teams to ensure alignment and execution of the sustainability strategy
  • Collaborate and coordinate across functions to share best practices and learnings and ensure the efficient delivery of resources and phasing of the regional sustainability strategy
  • Monitor and stay current on regional environmental, climate, human rights, and other due diligence policies, regulations, and legislation affecting the region including due diligence, climate, reporting, and other sustainability areas.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree. Master’s Degree in a related field (environmental or social sciences, business with sustainability concentration), and systems design thinking a plus
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience leading or supporting the implementation of sustainability in a global, regional or functional capacity, with a portion of such time within a for-profit business
  • Demonstrated experience in sustainability strategy development and implementation in a for-profit company
  • Demonstrated consultative approach with proficient project management skills including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing internal and external staff
  • Experience in change management, leading change initiatives
  • Experience in data analysis and database software programs a plus (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English is required
  • Ability to speak an Asian language (Thai, Japanese, Chinese) would be advantageous

  • Ability to work autonomously, is action-oriented and can efficiently manage, assess and provide recommendations on complex, long-term initiatives while prioritizing and delivering short-term interim objectives
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce deliverables that move dialogue forward and drive decision-making
  • Ability to travel within the region up to 25% of the time
