Senior Actuarial Model Developer

About The Role

Aegon has a fast growing actuarial team in Budapest, with new teams and roles added continually. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced modelling actuary to make a difference by setting up and driving a new modelling team with group-wide impact.

In this role you will work with senior actuaries and stakeholders in our group to understand their actuarial modelling needs and design and propose appropriate modelling solutions. Your role includes developing and testing actuarial models meeting those needs, coordinating the work of you and more junior developers in the team. You will be responsible for the design and development of the models, maintaining high standards of coding and modelling within the team, and making sure that the delivered models meet the highest professional standards and expectations.

What we are looking for

• Demonstrated track record in life and health actuarial model development
• Self-starting, pro-active, energized and ‘can-do’ attitude is a must
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior actuaries in varied topics
• Capability to coordinate the work of other developers
• High degree of actuarial professionalism
• Fluency in at least one high level programming language, understanding of common coding standards
• Outstanding communication skills
• Proficiency in English is a must
• Experience in actuarial software development (i.e. AXIS, RAFM, MoSes, Prophet) is a strong plus
• Mentoring or people management experience is a plus
• Passion to learn and grow professionally and make an impact
