When I was doing an MBA in IIM Ahmedabad, Professor Sunil Handa who used to teach Entrepreneurship opened my eyes during a guest lecture. He drew a big circle on the black board and put a dot in the circle. He said, “If you work for someone, you are a dot. Bigger the circle, smaller the dot is.” He drew another smaller circle and said, “If you start up or be an Entrepreneur, you are the circle. You know the impact, No matter how small or big.” That’s the exposure and fulfilment that entrepreneurs get. Vijay Rayapati, who sold Minjar to Nutanics in his podcast with Ofofo said “Entrepreneurship is 3 cycles with 10 years each”. It’s another life changer in-terms of mindset. Think long term and be a maverick.

I used to be Corporate - and thought I knew about running companies. But entrepreneurial life is completely different! We are building the plane while flying it. I feel it's founded in risk-tolerance. An entrepreneurial mindset comes with a natural acceptance of risk. As any entrepreneur knows (and has experienced) - risk is a constant. Without risk-tolerance most would crumble under the pressures. So whilst having a drive to create is a big piece - I do believe - this factor (risk-tolerance) underpins the crucial perseverance that is required and thus is essential and therefore is a very high-value piece of the architecture that makes up a successful entrepreneur. We should get better at expanding this ability.

Developing an entrepreneurial mindset isn't a single day's work. It is a deliberate process that involves cultivating certain habits and attitudes. "Different contexts and situations" has been key for me. Learning mountaineering and climbing mountains, immersing yourself in a new culture and a new language, learning new skills like marketing and sales - all these require the same "growth muscles" as entrepreneurship. Go out there and try things that stretch and scare you! This way you won't be phased by the scary things that will inevitably happen to you as an entrepreneur.

To develop an entrepreneurial mindset, one must switch from a scarce mindset to an abundant mindset. This will open them to new opportunities and being open to learning. An entrepreneur doesn't thrive in a stressful, scarce world as they live in the margins where dreams are made true. This can be obtained by reading and focusing on strengthening this "muscle" of abundance. You will need to learn how to learn as you seek creativity in the way you approach problems. This will train your mind to not only scout out opportunities, but also create opportunities by applying your learned knowledge and connecting dots.

As an Entrepreneur the buck stops at you. You take 1000% responsibility of any situation, know that everything is figureoutable & are able to innovate to turn things around. An Entrepreneurial Mindset is built over time along with deleting old Beliefs & creating New Beliefs that Empower a person to Create that Reality. Challenges will be overcome Every problem has a solution Sacrificing for Delayed Gratification Believe it or not Everyone has an Entrepreneurial bone in their body that gets activated when there is seemingly no way out, Adversity and/loss of some kind that leaves no other way but to Breakout, Breakthrough and Become a somebody from a nobody.

If a mindset becomes entrepreneurial then it automatically looks at every scenario as a problem-solving scenario and seeks support from others so that it can take up a team activity. Entrepreneur don't mind is it also enhances leadership qualities, and also mentoring capabilities.
