Saturday CoLab Innovation Hub, Kaduna in-person event, especially our host Sanusi Ismaila and tutor Peter Okwukogu aka Pablo. Peter took us on a journey through, Tableau public, Python Coding and Generative AI. On Tableau, you can communicate the data, not to obscure it in needless complexity. We started by talking about human delusions and how they have created limitations to our achievements in every sphere of civilisation. How long will you continue to blame your background? About four weeks ago, I joined Zion Tech Hub Data Analysis classes and I have no regret for doing so. You can't work with great minds and remain stagnant. Godsent Ndoma, the CEO of Zion Tech Hub has been a blessing in disguise to me and many others and I'm learning a lot from him. Yesterday, we had an AMAZING and INSIGHTFUL session with Mona Manzambi, CFP? (I call her beauty and brain) who spoke on 'Building a Successful Career in Financial Analytics.' Below are the some key points I will never forget: - You can't for too long continue to blame your background for not being successful in life, you have to pick up yourself, work hard, skill up and be positive. - It's okay to feel anxious when you see people who are more experienced and have expertise in your field, but always remember that they started from somewhere and didn't just become experts overnight. The Ghana Data Science Summit (IndabaX Ghana) is finally here ?? It has been an incredible journey being part of the organizing team and bringing this event to life. MY 3MTT WEEKLY REFLECTION TITLE: TRANSFORMING OUR ESTATE'S PAYMENT SYSTEM WITH DATA-DRIVEN SOLUTIONS As a Data Analysis and Visualization Fellow, I applied my skills to solve a real issue in our neighborhood at Kumbotso LGA Kano State. Every month, homeowners contribute to essential services like security and waste management, yet tracking payments was chaotic, with frequent delays and record keeping done on paper, creating room for errors. Seeing this, I developed a digital solution to make a real difference. The Solution: Data-Driven Payment Tracking I built a system using Airtable for organized payment records and Twilio to automate SMS reminders. The Estate committee can now monitor payments in real time and send friendly reminders, easing the entire process. Using visual analytics, I presented the results to the committee, demonstrating how this change would increase efficiency and accountability. The Impact: The response was overwhelmingly positive. The Estate Committee now enjoys transparent, efficient tracking, and residents appreciate the easy reminders. This project demonstrated the power of data to create real change and even inspired new ideas for more tech-driven solutions in our neighborhood.Thanks to 3MTT, I’m able to bring impactful, practical solutions to my community, one data-driven step at a time. I had the honour of taking part in a thought-provoking professional training session with Prof.Kemi Ogunyemi that covered the profound art of 'Coaching and Mentoring' at my workplace. The training was not only educational but also life-changing, providing insightful knowledge on mentoring and inspiring others in the workplace. Prof. Kemi's knowledge and experience provided light on how to develop effective mentoring relationships and hone coaching techniques, which laid the groundwork for significant advancements in both personal and professional spheres. It was a collaborative group learning which I gained valuable insights. Firstly, She defined Mentoring as a developmental relationship with more experienced person and a less experienced (usually younger) protégé. Originally derived from a character in Homer's Odyssey, one who guides a person through a difficult time. Mentors (unlike coaches) are usually experts within a particular field. How is it different from Coaching? A mentor is someone who shares their knowledge, skills and/or experience to help another to develop and grow. A Coach is someone who provides guidance to a client on their goals and help them reach their full potential. For instance, a mentor will point out what he or she thinks a mentee could have done better, while a coach will ask the individual what he or she could improve on and how to make that happen. Why mentor or be mentored? * Training alone is inadequate. Mentors (and coaches) draw out rather than put in, develop rather than impose, reflect rather than direct, do a continuous engagement rather than one-time and facilitate change. * Modern organisations are complex. * An organisation is as good as its employees thus, high performance is key. What should you expect from a mentor? A mentor is expected to: * Sincere desire to improve. * Career growth. * Performance enhancement. * Implementation of agreed action plans. * Personal progress-growth in self reliance. What should you expect from a mentee? A mentee is expected to: * Help and empathy, non-judgemental listening. * Personal development. * Performance enhancement. * Career Management etc. The Ground rules/Success factors to mentoring and coaching: * Punctuality. * Respect. * Trust and confidentiality. * Relationship boundaries * Realistic Expectations. First Meeting: Here, Introduction is done, ground rules/agreement are mapped out. Periodicity and Action plan. Build rapport, set objectives ( the why), discuss, wind-up/close. Followed by cultivation/growth: For success to be recorded, there must be growth. Maturity and sometimes redefinition. Positive outcomes resulting from the practice of mentoring: Long term career planning Enhanced Communication Positive Environment Management support Risk-free environment. Grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside esteemed colleagues under her guidance.

WEEK 20 Reflection 3MTT Nigeria Over the past 10 weeks, my biggest achievement has been building a strong foundation in product management, especially around product ideation and roadmap planning. Developing these skills has boosted my confidence in creating value-driven product strategies. My biggest challenge has been mastering data-driven decision-making; understanding analytics and applying data insights to drive product choices have required dedicated effort and patience. Throughout this journey, I’ve grown in areas like prioritization, communication, and user-focused design thinking. Weekly Reflection: Journey Through Challenges and Growth In these past 11 weeks with 3MTT Nigeria my proudest accomplishment has been pushing past my own limits and embracing data analytics—a field I once found intimidating. My first breakthrough came when I completed a complex dataset analysis, a task that initially seemed insurmountable. Seeing my efforts turn raw numbers into meaningful insights gave me a confidence boost I didn’t know I needed. But it wasn’t without challenges. Balancing my demanding 9-to-5 job with this intense learning program was my biggest hurdle. I often felt drained, questioning if I had the energy to keep going after long workdays. Many nights, I’d find myself up late, wrestling with Excel formulas and tutorial videos, wondering if it would all be worth it. But each small win—each successfully created chart or insight—kept me moving forward. Looking ahead, I want to deepen my storytelling skills in data analytics. I’ve come to realize that presenting data with a narrative is just as crucial as the analysis itself, especially to connect with people and drive impact.
