Map Thinking Styles for a Strong Team

We See Things Differently If you have been alive for a few years, you too may have noticed that people are different? I have! Some think like you, feel like you. Some do not. Differences in gender, culture, education, learning styles and more offer a rich tapestry in today’s workplace. As we grow, we develop skills for coping with these differences and sometimes we even celebrate them. “Vive la Difference” as the French exclaim!

Formal Axiology Recently I began working with a coaching assessment tool called MindScan. It grew out of the work of Nobel Prize-nominated Dr. Hartman in the 1940s. He called his body of work Formal Axiology. Using a ranking of values, in 20 short minutes, you can take a snapshot of your Thinking Styles. This process quantifies how you work with the external world (other people!) and how you also think about yourself. I have been pleasantly surprised by how accurate these tools have become. One difference between this assessment tool and some others is that this snapshot will change over time – demonstrating the value of the coaching being received by individuals and teams. It is wonderful to show measured coaching results!

Mapping Thinking Styles Have you ever worked on a team where someone really understood their role and were very clear about how to leverage their talents for the benefit of the team? Mapping out a team using the MindScan tool lets every team member, and of course, their team managers, get on the same page. Together they make clear measurable task assignments, goal assignments or KPIs along with weekly, monthly and quarterly plans for unique organizational results. Everyone on the same page, the clear sightlines set up team members to win together!

Reboot Your Teams Whether you are building a new team, engaged in a team pivot to new priorities or managing a re-boot of an existing team, this assessment tool can be quite helpful. It is the first stage of a 3-part process to deliver Assessment, Activity and ultimately Achievement for your team. Employees are fully engaged, management has a weekly snapshot of real-time results, and organizations win. Interested in how MindScan works? For a limited time, I can offer the MindScan assessment for free. Not sure if this assessment tool is right for your team? Well, there’s coaching for that!
