Having some knowledge about the colour temperature in Kelvin helps. Because you can then match the colour temperature to for instance a bright day or the shade. Right after adjusting the exposure and the white balance / colour temperature, I often choose the balance between green and magenta. Most editing software have a way to play with those two values in the form of a slider between green and magenta.

3 Correct lens distortions and chromatic aberrations

The third step is to correct any lens distortions and chromatic aberrations that may affect the quality of your RAW files. If you want to adjust individual colours it helps to temporarily desaturate all colours except the one you are adjusting. So you can see more clearly how you want the saturation, luminance and hue to be of individual colours. And I often use this when working on colours in nature as most plants look green but are in fact mostly yellow. By working on the green and yellow separately it wont become unnatural.

6 Export and share

The final step is to export and share your RAW files. Exporting allows you to convert your RAW files into other formats, such as JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or DNG, depending on your purpose and preference. You can also resize, rename, watermark, or add metadata to your files during the export process. Often there are some elements in the picture that are distracting. Some dust on a piece of clothing. A single hair sticking out in a strange direction. An irrelevant text or label. Wrinkles or harsh folds in fabric. A reflection in glasses. There are many automated ways to remove these distractions. Some are; a clone stamp, a healing brush, a removing healing brush an advanced smart filter. Or you can use a more elaborate process called frequency separation to work on colours and texture in separate layers to make the most untraceable invisible edits. To the structure like hairs and folds while keeping the colours the same, and to the shape or colours like removing red spots on skin while keeping the texture of the skin detailed.
