A pretty surprising career update. I founded MoldCo, an evidence-based healthcare platform to treat patients with mold-related health issues. After a 2-year period of rigorous research, forming a medical, scientific and operational team, exclusively licensing IP from the world's best clinics and experts, and building our healthcare platform… We’re treating patients this month. This was initiated by my own personal mold journey in 2022. Multiple symptoms dominated my days: chronic fatigue, brain fog, “brain on fire”, mood changes, gastrointestinal issues, night sweats, hair loss, weight gain, exercise intolerance, and more. As my symptoms grew worse, I withdrew from the outside world. It took several months, and multiple blood tests and failed doctor visits to identify the root issue. The landlords refused to return my deposit or remediate the issue, after multiple requests due to health concerns. They even hired their own inspector to show the home was "clean". Skeptical, I hired a mold inspector. He found highly toxic levels of mold throughout the HVAC system and black mold in the kitchen. I reviewed the report in horror: there were acute levels of toxic mold I was inhaling daily, as I worked from home, and my health deteriorated. I changed my home multiple times due to my environmental reactivity. It took months to find a safe place to live. I donated and tossed most of my things. I was reacting to my clothing, books, and furniture. I lived in fear that my treasured belongings were exacerbating my health issues, and it was easier to find safe housing with just 3 suitcases. I obsessively read 100's of technical publications and articles (still do). I spent my weekends, from morning to bed time, learning. I desperately experimented with anything that could make me better. I overcame my phobia of needles to complete blood tests to get to truth. I relentlessly asked questions of the world experts and pioneers in Mold Illness to find answers. They're now on our team. I share this story to say: Our mission at MoldCo is deeply rooted in the evidence-based understanding of the health impacts of mold (and the associated biotoxins) to provide real solutions accessibly. Mold Illness (aka CIRS): -Can be a debilitating, chronic condition. -Is an endemic, growing public health crisis. -Is not an allergy or fungal infection. We've built an affordable digital care solution for patients suffering from mold-related health issues, including research-backed treatments and lab testing. Our solutions are led by our medical and scientific team’s 30+ years of research in this space. We are guided by their approach, which has already been demonstrated in 30k+ patients.
