Through our national partnership with Be Pro Be Proud, we are excited to be introducing students to rewarding career paths in the skilled workforce, including opportunities in forestry and the forest products industry. This work is a big part of Weyerhaeuser's ongoing support for rural operating communities, and this week, we were honored to engage with leaders from around the country at Be Pro Be Proud’s 2024 National Conference in Greenville, South Carolina. Be Pro Be Proud GA’s 2nd stop on their roadshow was in my hometown of Augusta, Georgia. This event was well supported by the local school districts leadership, local and state government officials, Augusta’s EDA, Georgia Power Company’s Augusta region and many others. Although new and improved, this trailer still serves as an engaging and innovative resource for career awareness and exposure. This immersive, technology driven learning experience on wheels was thoughtfully designed to connect students to high-demand careers. The most exciting part of this day was, the Richmond County School System students at T.W. Josey High School and the Marion E. Barnes Career Center were the first students in the state to tour. It was awesome attending Skilled Trades Signing Day last week! Be Pro Be Proud put on this awesome event to celebrate high school seniors going into skilled trades. Two of our Georgia Trade School students have already finished the program before graduating from high school. I think my career might've been the last thing on my mind when I was 17. Proud of these guys.

WOODSTOCK, GA (May 10, 2024)?–?Be Pro Be Proud Georgia?unveiled its interactive Mobile Workshop on May 7 in Woodstock, preceding Skilled Professions Signing Day. The launch event, hosted by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development, highlighted the initiative’s commitment to inspiring young people to pursue fulfilling careers within skilled professions. “We’re so excited about the new workshop, but the ones who will really benefit from this are the kids in Cherokee County and the rest of the state,” said Misti Martin, President & CEO of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED). The new Be Pro Be Proud Georgia Mobile Workshop is a cutting-edge eighteen-wheeler with lateral sides that expand to provide a thousand square feet of showroom space. Designed to address Georgia’s critical skills gap, the Mobile Workshop is equipped with simulators and gamified stations to ignite student interest in various trades and encourage them to build successful futures without the potential burden of four-year university college debt. Last Tuesday, we hosted Skilled Professionals Signing Day in partnership with Be Pro Be Proud GA, Chattahoochee Tech and CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DIRSTRICT. Skilled Professionals Signing Day honored and celebrated 53 Cherokee County high school seniors pursuing education or a career in a variety of high-demand, high-wage careers. This year, we also honored public safety and military pathways for the first time. Congrats to these bright students!

I toured the new Be Pro Be Proud 18-wheeler yesterday! The Be Pro Be Proud movement is helping bridge the skilled professions gap for young people. The BPBP mobile workshop will be going to middle and high schools all across Georgia. We are excited to host the rig in St Simons Island at our 2024 GEDA Spring Workshop in a few weeks!
