I am focused & disciplined for success

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
For starters you need to know what "Self-Discipline" means. What it means is to stay committed. To stay focused. To not get distracted no matter how bad it gets. Its the tough mentality to stick to and do what is right for you in the long run instead of wasting time behind baseless stuffs. We all have the realisation but the commitment is often hard. We know what is right and what we should be doing, but instead we do things that give us temporary pleasure.
Like me right now, should be studying for an exam which is day after tomorrow but instead am wandering on social media. Now I need Self-Discipline here to stick to studies so I can score, and avoid these distractions. Exams are a small example. Building Self-Discipline in one’s life is often a crucial stuff to do. Its hard to build that mindset, its not possible for you to be responsible for one matter and careless in another. Once you’re Self-Disciplined. You are more Organized. You build up Self-Esteem. You unleash you Potential. You make Most of Everything. Therefore, Self-Discipline is the Key to Success.
Because it is true. Who will discipline you, if you cannot? Who gains or loses when you cheat? Who is around when the shit hits the fan? If you can’t trust yourself to succeed then Whom? Who learns the best lessons from failure? Yeah, that person is you. Let me explain. You decide you want to start running at 6:00AM every morning. You are excited to finally make the decision and can’t wait to get up in the morning to go for your first run. You wake up with the alarm at 5:45AM. And now you do the most dreadful of things. You know you shouldn’t do it. But you do it anyway. Habit. Oh the devil, the good old enemy. You start to think. “Oh I should probably sleep a little more. Its 5:45AM and I have to go for run at 6:00AM anyway”

“Oh I slept a little late last night and if I don’t get enough sleep I won’t be able to function at work today” “The weather is kinda cold” “I can go for a run in the evening anyway” “I will compensate for today and run twice the miles tomorrow” You think. And you rationalize. You sugarcoat your excuses with rationality and logic. It makes you feel good about yourself. It creates a fa?ade that it is somehow best not to do what you decided must be done. The internal dialogue is draining, time-consuming, and leads to inaction. How many times has it happened that you decided something and didn’t follow through? How many times did you rationalize your inactions and indecisions?
Let’s say in an alternate reality, you made the decision (after a lot of thinking) and after that you stopped thinking. You wake up with the alarm at 5:45AM. You put your shoes on and get out of the house for the run in the end. Because it can free you from your temptations and help you focus on and do what actually matters. Yes you should work out. We all know the benefits of working out. There is nothing wrong with that and the people who actually don’t have any time for working out are very few.
Still, how many of us actually devote some time to working out and how many of us devote that time to browsing on social media. With self-discipline you are free to do what you want and what you know should do, as well as the things that are not necessary. And because the road to what most people would consider success, by their personal standards, is hard, most people avoid following it or they just settle on being good enough, again by their personal standards, while by trying hard enough, almost everyone can achieve almost anything. Cheers!
