Why Everyone Should Visit India at Least Once

I was so excited for my business trip to Chennai this month, I didn’t even bother to worry that I was about to insert myself into a city and culture where I look and sound different from everyone.??When I say?everyone, I’m not just referring to the locals, like when I travel to Mexico or Jamaica.??I mean?everyone.??Even among the tourists in Chennai, I stand out like a sore thumb.??During my entire stay in Chennai, I didn’t see one other white person.??Nor did I hear one other American accent.??But the beautiful people of Chennai never gave me a chance to feel isolated or uncomfortable.??
From the moment my plane landed, the local Chennai travelers were asking how they could help me find my way.??When I arrived at the luxurious Taj Wellington Mews Hotel, I was greeted by several lovely women who seamlessly took care of checking me in and getting me to my suite.??I would later discover that the Taj Wellington Mews is the first luxury hotel in South Asia that is run SOLELY by women.??Every manager and employee, from security to maintenance to management, is a woman.??And I can honestly say their hotel is run better than any Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, or Fairmount hotel I’ve stayed at during my travels around the world.??
The first culture shock I experienced in Chennai was when a friend picked me up on his motorcycle and I got to experience how people drive in India.??It’s a very aggressive form of driving where drivers beep to let other drivers know they are coming right at them.??So there is an almost constant barrage of car horns.??And yet, there are very few accidents (much less by percentage than the US) and even fewer incidents of road rage.??In India, drivers use the car horn as an effective tool for safe driving and sharing the road, not as a threat or challenge to fight.??It’s a subtle, but very powerful, innovation.??And innovation would be a recurring theme I continued to notice during my visit to Chennai.
The next culture shock was how the locals in Chennai treat visitors as family.??From the adorable children calling me “Adam Uncle” within hours of meeting me, to the incredible chef and restaurant owner who didn’t want to accept payment for the delicious meal he served me, to the amazing woman who runs the Vishnathi Home for the Aged which cares for destitute female widows and introduced me as an honored guest to the “Grannies”, to the brilliant scientists and engineers at the Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) at IIT Madras who so graciously shared their research with me as we explored innovative ways to combine forces to make the world a safer and healthier place:??everyone I met in Chennai treated me more like a family member than a visitor.??This, I learned from a friend in Chennai, is ingrained in their culture.
And the final culture shock was just how advanced and world-class are the technologies being developed at the HTIC at IIT Madras.??First of all, the sprawling campus is gorgeously impressive.??It takes up a square mile and there are beautiful deer and cute monkeys just hanging around as you walk from building to building.??It’s as if Google’s campus was picked up and moved to a safari location.??And once inside the buildings, the mind explodes with excitement at the deep tech healthcare innovations being invented and improved by the brightest scientists and engineers in the world.
I came to India to explore the culture and incorporate my learnings into the LimitlessAF program for longevity and wellness, the same program that allowed me to reverse diabetes and become the world’s fittest 53 year old.??But I left India with so much more than I could have possibly imagined.??
First, I received an offer from the leaders at the HTIC at IIT Madras to scientifically test my claim as the fittest 53 year old on the planet.??Using the world’s most accurate measure of vascular age (the best proxy we have for biological age), the ArtSens device, my vascular age was measured as 21 years old.??My pulse wave velocity (PWV) score was 6.01, which is significant because the lead scientist said it was the best PWV score he had ever seen in over 5,000 subjects tested (including elite level athletes 30 years younger than me).
Next, I was approached by the incredible developers of Netrin Sports Technologies to further test how my LimitlessAF training results measure up to the elite level athletes who train using their performance app and tech stack.??We chose a Saturday, which happened to be the hottest day of the year in Chennai, to run 4 hours worth of training tests to measure the effectiveness of my LimitlessAF training methods.??A whole team and camera crew ran me through the cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET), where my VO2 Max score was equivalent to an elite level athlete aged 20-29.??Next were posture, balance, and jumping tests.??Next they put a VR headset on me and tested my boxing skills and reaction times.??Across the board, my measurements came back as that of an elite level athlete in his 20’s, scientific data points that show I have been able to reverse the aging process.
But the best was saved for last.??After 3 hours of grueling physical exercise, we drove out to their Olympic-caliber outdoor track and field facility.??It was now 1:00pm and did I mention it was the hottest day of the year in Chennai???It was so hot that nobody was allowed on the track after 10:00am.??But they asked me anyway if I wanted to run the 100 meter sprint while wearing their Netrin device.??And I, Mr. LimitlessAF, of course said I would love to.
When we walked onto the track, I noticed everyone else was sweating profusely as they set up their cameras and equipment, but I had barely broken a sweat.??They noticed as well and asked me why I wasn’t sweating like a pig.??I explained that my LimitlessAF lifestyle modifications regulate my body temperature so that I barely sweat, even when I am in a sauna.??They got their cameras ready and I lined up for my 100 meter sprint on the beautiful track.??I gave the sprint everything I had and clocked a time of 13.85.??As I collected my breath, one of the Netrin founders explained that they didn’t get the video angle they were hoping for…could I run the sprint one more time???I laughed and asked if he was trying to kill me.??Then I lined up and shaved a few milliseconds off my first time.??
When the 4 hours of intense physical training was over, and all of my results had been carefully measured and analyzed, the Netrin team came up with the same conclusion that the ArtSens team had come up with earlier:??that my LimitlessAF training methods and lifestyle modifications have allowed me to reverse the aging process AND become the fittest 53 year old on the planet.??
So after coming to India just hoping to incorporate my learnings into the LimitlessAF training program, I ended up leaving India with a deal to co-found LimitlessAF as a tech startup, powered by the most innovative deep tech that the HTIC at IIT Madras has to offer, and using that tech to help people reverse aging and improve elite athletic performance.??Our Transformation Tech Stack uses AI, deep learning, and AR/VR to take the world’s most accurate measurement of vascular (or biological) age, and then prescribe a specific menu of lifestyle modifications based on that person’s age, gender, ethnicity, dietary restrictions, injury history, stress levels, and geographic location, and then measure improvement through a complete set of metrics designed to transform anyone to LimitlessAF results.??This is the next evolution of precision wellness and longevity, powered by technology and innovation.
And that is what I would say about my transformational life-changing journey to India:??I left Chennai with so much more than I came with.??It was the innovation, it was the culture, but more than anything, it was the beautiful people of India that I will never forget.??In fact, Chennai made such an incredible impression that I have agreed to return to the HTIC at IIT Madras on a regular basis.??My next trip there is July, and you can be sure I will be staying at my home away from home, the beautiful Taj Wellington Mews Chennai.??I hope to see you on one of my future trips to Chennai!
