Proud to be one of several sponsors for a great professional development event hosted in Omaha this week.
Enjoying the opportunity to connect, learn and have a great time, with 50 of my International Right of Way Association peers from IRWA Region 3 in #Omaha. Can’t beat this awesome weather for this Region Fall Forum! Many thanks to those that have sponsored this event!

A service provider with a connection to #familyfarming. Blessed to have an awesome upbringing, to better understand the impact of rural life.
Totally agree with your sentiments Paul! I spent a number of summers as a kid, on a century family farm (homesteaded for more then a 100 years) in southern MB. I love going back to reconnect, even briefly.

Project engagement has to be more then just landowners. #Stakeholders need to be informed and it need to be innovative.
Seeking input or ideas from my #renewable connections on best practices or best simple “props” (equipment / setup, etc) to engage stakeholders at outside public events in communities where large scale #solar projects are being sited nearby. I recently supported a great client at an event in Nebraska where approximately 10,000 folks came to the take in the “Cruizin Main 2024” in Plattsmouth. Great foot traffic over 4 hours and opportunity to engage folks, but branded cozies are not as eye catching as 500 some fancy ?? and ?? (cars and trucks)... ?? Who has the killer solar #display that could maybe fit on the back of a pickup or small trailer and be useful in driving discussions? Let me know in comments. Thx.

Many projects take more than just a “land” effort. Reach out to learn more!
Enjoying some cooler temps supporting a great client, NextEra Energy Resources at the #CassCounty Fair in Nebraska. I love engaging folks at these events to share information on #solarpower and the local benefits that can be achieved from this large scale project. Among many certifications for seeking agreements and executing same, holding a General Notary is critical. If your hiring land services, ask the question on their team members ability to Notarize signatures.
Sharing for my network involved in #landacquisition…. Never take for granted the importance of holding a General #Notary #certification (or for my friends in ????, a Commissioner of Oaths”) for your respective jurisdiction. When you “need ??” on agreements, you’ll need to typically notarize signatures. I closed a deal last week that was one of the most time sensitive agreements I’ve ever been involved with. It took personally meeting with several landowners representing a family LLC to seek their signatures, notarize same, scan and transmit agreements from their kitchen table to our external counsel, to get that agreement into a conditional use permit package submission. The permit had to be submitted in hard copy format 1.5 hours later before the county office closed. Let’s just say, my $100 and a few hours spent on seeking my NE General Notary, paid for itself that afternoon!

Continued education is key to any service provider. Learn, grow and apply lessons from others.
Great trip to meet and greet industry folks at IRWA Chapter 62 - Edmonton Alberta Canada, Region 10 Forum. Learning about renewable energy and land acquisition in Alberta and new technologies related to same. Awesome to catch up with up and coming association officers like Koby Godwin, SR/WA.

It's all about balance.
Work / Life Balance. You gotta find it and enjoy it! Last week, I "parked" most of my work stuff (including a 7 day break from #LinkedIn) to travel and spend time at a family gathering in Florida. Did some work creep in? Yes, but only for a few hours on critical stuff. Did some work calls come in? Yes, but after a short visit the callers respected I was having some downtime. Highlights of 6 days of family time included; a visit with Aunt and Uncle who "snowbird" south from Canada (who I had not seen in 10 years), teaching a young niece how to play chess (she was a quick learner), beer sampling with my son and brother-in-law, cooking for others, eating with family, reading, a trip to the beach with my wife, soaking up some sun and watching some Canadian Curling. Did I miss much on LinkedIn? No. Was I reminded of the importance of downtime? Yes.

When your searching for a contract service provider, the balance between expertise, local to the work, talent available to deploy, and cost of service is critical. #Safety performance and program verification ranks right at the top of the list as well! Recently I had a client that required a very comprehensive safety program (plus additional factors) review via ISN (ISNetworld). I will say as a small service provider it was one of the more challenging processes I've worked through! Happy to share, I'm now verified and ready to go to work with my new client. Bonus. I could probably teach others on how to do this process more efficiently. Reach out to Robert S. Latimer to learn more.
