Elevate Your Productivity
We all have the same 24 hours in a day, seven days each week and 365 days each year. At least for now, no one has come up with any new innovations extending these periods of time. If we define productivity as our productive output during a specific period, and we want to be more productive, we need to find ways of producing more during the same number of hours, days or weeks.?
So many of us fall into the whirlwind of racing through each day, responding to emails, returning phone calls, sitting through meetings, checking the busywork boxes, only to find ourselves exhausted with little to show for our efforts. Here is a list of productivity hacks that are certain to make you more productive TODAY:?
1.?????Plan Weekly – Take 30 to 60 minutes each weekend to plan the week ahead. Identify your “Big Rocks” (those things that matter most both personally and professionally) and place them on your calendar, including any necessary prep or travel time.
2.?????Amend Your Plan Daily – At the end of each day, take 15 minutes to make course corrections for the following day, based on unforeseen circumstances, just as a pilot makes course corrections during flight based upon weather conditions, air traffic, etc.
3.?????Keep a Daily Diary of Key Accomplishments – Simply jot down your significant accomplishments at the end of each day for future reference as well as forcing you to give thought at least once each day as to whether or not you are truly focused on the right things.
4.?????Capitalize on Your Resources – Never in my lifetime have we had access to so many resources, particularly information. We have Google for search. We have YouTube to ?show and tell us how to do almost anything. We have AI to assist us with a rapidly growing list of tasks and research, enabling us to dramatically cut down on wasted time running down rabbit holes. We also have networks of professionals and friends who have the answers we need and they are just an email, phone call or Zoom/Teams meeting away

5.?????Re-Organize Your Team for Optimum Productivity – When was the last time you carefully considered what key functions you have each member of your team performing? It’s possible you have the wrong people performing certain important tasks that slow down the team’s overall productivity, when simply shifting players to different seats on the bus would catapult the team’s performance.
6.?????Upgrade Technology – You may not want to spend the money, but there may be new apps, programs or hardware that could dramatically improve your team’s output?
7.?????Take Care of Your Health – You are no good to anyone if your health prevents you from working at your optimum level. This means you MUST take care of YOU first. This means eating right, getting enough sleep, getting at least 30 minutes each day of physical movement, and carving out a little peaceful think time every morning and afternoon (just 5 – 15 minutes).
